Miami native Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has a celebrated career as a portrait photographer and documentary maker. His subjects range from artists, politicians and rockers to African-American and Latino identity. Now he takes on the themes of beauty and aging by interviewing some of the most famous female models from the past five decades.The HBO Documentary Film About Face: The Supermodels Then And Now illustrates that models, known for their beautiful bodies, also prove to have lively minds. They are witty, candid and reflective spanning the topics of plastic surgery, drugs, personal history and the business of beauty. Among the memorable testimonies are Paulina Porizkova on her youthful insecurities; Jerry Hall on escaping Texas for France; Beverly Johnson on being Vogue’s first African-American cover in 1974; and Carol Alt on posing for Playboy at age 47.
