COVER-UP
Fresh off the heels of screenings at the Venice, Telluride, and Toronto International film festivals, we’re delighted to bring to present Cover-Up, a political thriller that traces the explosive career of Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh.
Urgent and deeply reported, the documentary is both a portrait of a relentless journalist and an indictment of institutional violence – revealing a cycle of impunity in the U.S. military and intelligence agencies. Drawing on exclusive access to Hersh’s notes, and interweaving primary documents and archival footage, the film captures the power and process of investigative journalism.
Co-directed by Academy Award and Golden Lion winner Laura Poitras, whose All the Beauty and the Bloodshed screened at the 2022 Miami Film Festival GEMS, and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Mark Obenhaus, Cover-Up is essential viewing.
NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE
When their plan to book a show at the Rivoli goes horribly wrong, Matt and Jay accidentally travel back to the year 2008.
Winner of the People’s Choice Award in the Midnight Madness section at the most recent Toronto International Film Festival – and boasting a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score – Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie is solidifying itself as a modern cult classic.
Mixing hilarious real-life public interactions with Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol’s wholly unique blend of guerrilla-style mockumentary filmmaking, pop culture references, and goofy bromance shenanigans, the end result is chaos and delight in equal measure. Back to the Future meets This Is Spinal Tap meets Nathan For You, Nirvanna is the most outrageous comedy you’ll see this year.
