Overview
In 1976, a voyaging canoe sparked a cultural revival that quickly spread throughout Polynesia, breathing life into ancient myths and legends. More than four decades later, Hōkūleʻa continues to inspire a new generation of navigators and voyagers to gather their courage and sail beyond the horizon of the Pacific.

MOANANUIĀKEA: ONE OCEAN. ONE PEOPLE. ONE CANOE celebrates the historic Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage that connected countless individuals and communities from around the globe. This voyage also represented the fulfillment of the vision of Nainoa Thompson and his contemporaries, the passing of the mantle of celestial navigation to the next generation of kānaka maoli who will retain the skills of their ancestors and perpetuate this tradition for generations to come.

Founded in 1996 by Daniella Levine Cava, Catalyst Miami is building a Miami where all people can afford to live well, for generations to come. Our services and programs are tailored to Miami's Black and Brown folks from low- to moderate-income communities on the frontlines of climate and economic injustice. In addition to supporting individuals, families, and small businesses through a variety of free services, we focus on catalyzing opportunities to strengthen our neighborhoods, expand local ownership, and shape public policy. Our advocacy and leadership training programs, as well as our community economic development initiatives, contribute to the unified, influential, multigenerational movement that we need to usher in a more just and joyful future for all who call Miami-Dade home.
