Overview
Art House Theater Day is an annual program that brings a series of new and classic independent films to theaters across the country to celebrate the art house community and its commitment to preserving the power of cinematic storytelling and the theatrical experience. This year, we're showing a 10th anniversary screening of Sean Baker’s award-winning independent film TANGERINE.
Before the film, don't miss an exclusive recorded Q&A with Sean Baker & Samantha Quan!

TANGERINE is a bubbly, sassy slice of life that is part John Waters and part Duplass Brothers (who co-produced). Director Sean Baker's (ANORA) innovative production was filmed entirely on an iPhone 5s, which not only looks astounding, but allowed for unobtrusive, street-level intimacy. Tangerine is fierce and sweet, farcical and tender, and features fully realized transgender characters that are complex, real, and able to toss off classic dialogue that will be repeated for years
On Christmas Eve, transgender sex worker Sin-Dee Rella (Kitana Kiki Rodriguez) meets her friend and fellow transgender sex worker Alexandra (Mya Taylor) at Donut Time. Once informed that her boyfriend and pimp, Chester, has been cheating on her with a white cisgender woman, Sin-Dee storms out to search the neighborhood.
